Construction is Ready for Industrial Grade Innovation

The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC), a national trade association based in Arlington, VA and representing over 1,800 construction firms in the United States, just held its fourth annual Industrial Grade Innovation (IGI) Conference and Expo in St. Louis, MO on August 17-19, 2021.

The event was focused on construction related innovation and technology solutions, and brought together TAUC’s 1,800+ construction firm members, our partners in the building and construction trades, and the owner/client community to hear from a select group of technology firms and innovative entrepreneurs showcasing their products and services.

TAUC is committed to helping its membership and the industry identify and implement new innovation and technology that has the potential to revolutionize the construction and maintenance industry.

The Solution

You!  Your company's products and services can help revolutionize the industrial construction sector and usher in a new wave of safety, productivity and efficiency.  Technology can improve contractors' bottom lines, increase their competitiveness and offset the challenges associated with a tight labor supply.

  • Advanced automation

  • Augmented and Virtual Reality

  • Robotics

  • 3D printing

  • Safety innovation

  • Next-gen engineering and design software

The Problem

Thanks to a booming economy, an aging workforce and the ongoing American energy renaissance, demand for industrial construction services is skyrocketing.  Sounds good but...

  • Construction Productivity is down - due in large part to the industry's failure to adopt new innovation and technology.

  • Many firms and labor unions are experiencing significant labor supply shortages as baby boomers retire, and experts say the problem will only get worse.

  • Recruitment of a new generation of both labor and management personnel in the industrial construction sector has been insufficient.
